Gas Water Heater Installed from $2,195 · ends November 30
Hot showers by evening: a new water heater installed in one day, from $2,195.
That's the installed price for a 40-gallon Rheem gas tank, with the permit, the expansion tank and the haul-away already in it, and the 50-gallon is $100 more. Request a time below and we'll call to set your install day.
Serving the Wasatch Front, Logan to Provo.

What the price includes
- 40-gallon Rheem gas water heater = $2,195 installed. 50-gallon = $2,295. Match whichever size you have now.
- The expansion tank and valves, the permit and hauling the old tank away are all inside that number, so none of them show up as extras on the invoice.
- A licensed Golden Rule plumber does the work and finishes it in one day.
- If your home needs something beyond a straight gas-for-gas swap, say a vent change to meet code, we price that separately and tell you before we start.
Why we print the price
Most water heater ads in Utah hand you a coupon and no price, which means you don't learn the real number until a plumber is already standing in your utility room. We'd rather you know it before you pick up the phone, so $2,195 is what a straight gas-for-gas replacement costs installed, and if your setup turns out to need an extra code item you'll hear that price first and decide from there.
Financing available, including no-interest options. See current plans. On approved credit (OAC).
How the install goes
- 1
We call to confirm your day and ask a few questions about the tank you have now, so the plumber shows up with the right unit already on the truck.
- 2
The plumber looks over your setup, confirms the price in writing and then pulls the old tank.
- 3
The new Rheem goes in with a fresh expansion tank and valves, we file the permit and take the old tank with us, and you're back to hot water that evening.
Just need the current tank repaired? That's a repair call, and we do those too.
“Our water heater failed. It was leaking and we needed it fixed quickly. Golden Rule scheduled the replacement quickly. The technicians were excellent. I will definitely use again!”

FAQs
Questions, answered
Is $2,195 really the whole price?
For a like-for-like gas replacement, yes. The tank, the expansion tank and valves, the permit, the labor and the haul-away are all in that number. The only time it changes is when your home needs an extra code item, such as a different vent or a gas line change, and in that case we price it separately and tell you before any work starts.
How do I know whether I need the 40 or the 50?
Match the tank you have now, which is printed on the label on its side. A 50-gallon gives a bigger household more hot water in the morning and costs $100 more, and if you're not sure which you have, text us a photo of the label and we'll tell you.
Can you install it the same day I call?
We won't promise that, because we'd rather be honest about the schedule than tell you what you want to hear. What we do promise is that once your day is booked, the install is finished that day, and when you call we'll tell you the soonest day we can be there.
Do I pay a trip charge to have you look first?
No. Estimates never carry a trip charge, and right now first-time Golden Rule customers in Utah pay no trip charge on any visit, which is a $72 value.
My water heater is electric or tankless. Does this price apply?
No, this offer is for replacing a gas tank with a gas tank. We install electric and tankless units too, and we'll quote those after we've seen the house.
What about hard water?
Wasatch Front water is hard, and that's what wears a tank out early. Ask the plumber about a softener while they're there, or request our free water hardness test and we'll tell you where your water stands.
When does the price end?
November 30, 2026. Request before then and the price holds for your install, even if the day we come out is in December.
Know the price before anyone shows up
It takes about a minute to request and one phone call to set your day, and the $2,195 is in writing before the old tank comes out.
